School to School Support
All schools within the alliance participate in an annual Autumn Term school improvement conversation with colleague Heads and SLF officers. The conversation reviews past examination performance, the performance of current cohorts in the school as well as calibrating SEF judgements and identifying school improvement priorities.
Following the Autumn Term conversations SLE / leadership support is deployed into schools as appropriate. The South Lakes Federation (SLF) Executive Group has responsibility for overviewing school performance across the alliance.
School governors sign a 'Statement of Commitment' to the principles of the SLF and the expectations of belonging to it. A scheduled Spring Term review is used to gauge progress against priorities identified in the Autumn Term visit including an evaluation of external support.
