Specialist Leaders in Education (SLE)
SLEs are a key part of our School Improvement Strategy. SLEs lead subject networks, area wide CPD and are deployed across our partnership of schools and in other areas of Lancashire, Cumbria and North Yorkshire
The South Lakes Teaching School Alliance has been successfully delivering SLE Core & Enrichment Training for the past 4 years. Delegate feedback has been excellent throughout this time, and we pride ourselves on “tweaking” the training to make it most relevant to the area’s needs. Quality assurance visits from Ashton-on-Mersey school have been resoundingly positive.
The SLE Training model is currently being devolved to local regions by NCTL. Each Teaching School Alliance now has the opportunity to have someone trained to deliver SLE Core Training from September 2016. During April-June 2016, this training will be offered free of charge. From September 2016 we will offer “Train the Trainer” sessions and support packages at a reasonable cost.
For Alliances who do not wish to have someone trained, or do not have the capacity to deliver SLE Core Training, we are very happy to continue to deliver SLE Training. We can also deliver other bespoke training for SLEs such as Leading Teaching and Learning or Advanced Coaching Skills.
